In this workshop, the girls were able to learn about self confidence, self esteem, and how to work toward gaining their own voice. It was a very good experience for the girls and gave them the chance to talk openly about themselves and listen to their peers in a safe and welcoming environment. They worked on creative and helpful exercises that gave them the space for creativity and self knowledge. They met for 5 modules.
During these meetings, we also worked on some creative writing activities, using their own experiences and knowledge of themselves and their interaction with their families as a basis for their writings. Some of the girls even felt comfortable enough sharing their own stories, further solidifying the safe and welcoming environment we strive for during these meetings.
